Unpaid CIT Positions (2017)

Surf Camp will have several open CIT positions for the 2017 season. CITs gain experience working with kids, teaching surfing, and learn valuable communication skills in addition to spending time outdoors and improving their surfing skills.

Important Information and CIT Requirements:

  • Each CIT works for a maximum of 3 consecutive weeks. This allows us to extend opportunities to as many interested applicants as possible.
  • CITs must be at least 15 years of age to apply. Those younger than 15 who are interested in working as a CIT in the future should attend camp to improve their surfing skills.
  • CITs must be available Monday to Friday, 8:15am to 3:15pm, and have reliable transportation to and from Scarborough Beach.
  • CITs must bring their own gear (surfboard and wetsuit) to and from work each day.
  • CIT positions are unpaid and applicants must have their own Scarborough Beach State Park surf pass to access the beach.
  • Working as a CIT should not be taken as indication of any future paid work opportunity. The number of paid positions in Surf Camp is limited and entirely dependent on staffing needs at the time. Most paid employees have worked for Surf Camp for 3+ years, and we generally only have new paid positions available when someone from the existing staff leaves.

If you are interested in becoming a CIT, please fill out the CIT application by May 15th, 2017. It will become available in mid-January: SURF CAMP CIT APPLICATION
